John Berry
Hunting Consultants Ltd are New Zealand Hunting Guides who offer outfitted
guided hunts for all the big game species currently available in the South
Pacific.
If you need
a New Zealand hunting guide here in New Zealand, I personally guide or
supervise hunts for: Red Stag, Wapiti (Elk), Thar (Tahr), Chamois, Fallow
Buck, Whitetail, Sika, Sambar and Pere David deer as well as Feral Goat,
Arapawa Ram and Boar. These hunts are offered both Free Range and under
Game Estate conditions.
The New Zealand
hunting season is generally from early March through July for the deer
species – Red Stag, Wapiti, Fallow, etc. However some species such as Sika
and Fallow can be successfully hunted later. Thar (Tahr), Chamois and Feral
Goat can be hunted at anytime of the year, but the capes are best between
late April and September.
New Caledonia
Rusa Stag hunts are offered during late July and August – this coincides
with the rut period. I personally guide these entirely Free Range
hunts, for exceptional trophy Rusa Stags.
My Australian
hunts are conducted for trophy Buffalo, Banteng, Rusa Stag (Moluccan subspecies),
Axis, Sambar and Hog Deer. Feral Boar and Blackbuck may also be available.
The Australian hunts are conducted either Free Range or Game Estate depending
on the client’s wish and the trophies sort.
The Australian
hunting season generally runs from May through August in the Northern Territory
– the area used for Buffalo and Banteng hunting. While this period
provides the best climatic conditions for hunting these species, they maybe
taken outside this time if required. In the southern parts of Australia
the season extends into early March for the deer species.
